(This is the first of a series that will highlight the successes of individual companies. As a Denver business lawyer I strive to be a trusted advisor and partner to my clients. The Colorado companies featured here are great examples of businesses that provide exceptional service in their own right.)
CorePower Yoga is a Denver business that is making a big name for itself. This health and fitness company started in 2002 and has grown to 55 studios in Colorado, California, Oregon, Minnesota and Illinois. New studio openings in Seattle, Austin and Washington D.C. have just been announced, keeping CorePower on track to meet its goal of opening 100 studios in 5 years. This Denver business success story has shown tremendous growth from their $6.5 million in 2007 to $23 million in 2010, with a target of $30 million for 2011.
Many Accolades for this Colorado LLC
- Inc. Magazine ranked CorePower Yoga 1302 on its Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing private companies. This puts CorePower as the 27th fastest growing private Colorado business.
- ColoradoBiz magazine listed CorePower Yoga as a Top Company 2011 winner
- CorePower Yoga won ACG’s Emerging Corporate Growth Award, an honor given to companies with annual sales of less than $100 million that have demonstrated steady growth for three consecutive years.
- Founder and CEO Trevor Tice won the 2010 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the Rocky Mountain Region
Another aspect of this Colorado LLC that I admire is its policy of giving back. They have fittingly established the Karma Yoga Project to create positive community change. Here in Colorado the company recently partnered with singer Michael Franti for his annual Harvest Ball in Broomfield, CO.
This is a great example of how a local entrepreneur took the steps to turn what he was passionate about into a Colorado small business that has grown into a success story.
